About Me

The man behind the minis.

Hi, I'm Justin.

I'm Justin, and I like to sculpt miniatures. I was first introduced to miniatures in highschool when my friends convinced me to buy and paint a box of warhammer minis. I then forgot how fun they were until about 5 years later when I was in college. I got back into miniatures and started painting all kinds of minis. Skaven, Adeptus Custodes, a few Middle-Earth Strategy battle games armies, and many of the small Warhammer Underworlds teams were my favorite. I even painted a halfling army from Mantic miniatures.

At some point, I realized that while I really enjoyed painting, I was always painting somebody else's work. I decided I wanted some miniatures that were completely mine, from the concept to the sculpt to the paint job. I knew that these days, pretty much all miniatures are created digitally. But at that point in my life I was tired of looking at a screen all day, so I decided to look into how they crafted miniatures in the 80s. That topic is a real rabbit-hole if you're interested. But I started learning to hand-sculpt like they did back then. With no formal artistic background, I learned the basics mostly watching youtube and scrounging the internet for mini-sculpting tutorials. Years later, I'm still learning. But the joy is in the journey!

If you're interested in learning mini-sculpting or really any craft, my advice is to just do it. Get your hands dirty and accept that your first one will probably be bad, but that the next one will be better!
